The term reverse osmosis may sound too scientific. But did you know it plays a lot of important roles in your daily activities?Reverse osmosis is the process that separates the solvent and the solute component of a mixture. This scientific process makes use of osmotic pressure to force the solvent to move from a high solute region to a low solute area. This process is used to remove the salt from the sea water. It is also used to purify fresh water for domestic applications as well as for industrial and medical purposes. |
